Annual Creativity Challenges

Exploring creativity through a series of modalities.

Each year, we undertake an exciting task designed to inspire innovation and encourage collaboration among participants. Our challenges create a platform to showcase modalities, test skills and talents while exploring new concepts that promote safe, stable and consistent holistic neuroscience.

Annual Creativity Challenge Goal: To take the typical erratic 'polar highs and lows crash effect' experienced with common mindfulness chromotherapy approaches, and transmute those states into stable perpetually enduring autonomous holistic disciplines; thus more consistently nourishing on body, mind and soul.

2026 Watercolour Art Challenge

2026 will see an expansion of colour and vibrancy through watercolour illustration. It was a close option to choose mosaics as a natural flow on from the diamond art, but watercolour won out on the convenience and availability factors for now, and so means taking a 'step back' in the naturally emerging pathway right now, and diverge back into an extension of the Faber Castel challenge of 2024 before retracking back onto the diamond art causeway.

What watercolour offers is opportunity to explore expression through the use of pigments suspended in a water-based solution. This medium is known for its transparency, allowing light to reflect off the paper, creating luminous effects. Watercolour techniques vary widely—from wet-on-wet blending to dry brush methods—offering a range of creative possibilities to explore and experiment with.

Watercolour art is a captivating medium characterised by its translucency and the fluidity of its application, plus allows artists to convey emotion and narrative through their work. Its from this that imagination becomes inspired and unpredictability in outcomes gives it that added spark of curiosity. What the Studio aims to achieve with this art challenge this year, is to bring fluidity to thought form and being able to harness that into a set of skills which can harness timely expression on a visual level.

2025 Diamond Art Challenge

As discovered in 2024, Chromotherapy and Conscious Creativity through simple colouring in, offered a unique way to enhance positive impact on body, mind and soul.

The natural progression of this for the 2025 challenge was to take those principles and experiences of the colouring in challenge and translate that into the diamond art modality. Arguably diamond art has been described as a craft and not an true artistic expression. The studio recognises that art has a very broad definition and anything creative based is effectively a form of art.

As Australian Art Creativity Studio is a progressive and innovative hub for creativity and expression, it has taken diamond art and leveraged it into a tool for conscious creativity and holistic impact using neuroscience principles. And through those 52 weeks of earnest exploration, peer discussions and weaving of conscious creativity into diamond art kits, it has been discovered that this humble modality has a lot to offer and teaches a lot as well.

Unlike what colouring in can achieve (despite being its own powerhouse of skill, impact and effect), diamond art is indeed another whole other realm of chromotherapy and provides a build on to the colouring in learnings of 2024. The steadfastness of concentration required to the placement of drills, the scope of the graphic hues, the density of spectrum spaces, the intricacy of the detailing.... it all has a very impactful importance on the holistic therapeutic experience when done across the span of designated time.

Time and consistency is needed for diamond art to truly shine in its value, and from this, the studio recognises the unique powerhouse of neuroscientific nourishment it can create for the creative person, and offers variety to the traditional colouring in modality.

As a result, affordable and quality kits are made available in the webstore so that creatives can explore their own adventures with discovering these outcomes for themselves in their own challenges.

The challenge has proven and demonstrated that consistency over time, gives way to experience that will offer superior autonomy to the creative; for example at a mere glance, what impactful design will deliver the cognitive outcome that is specifically sought after, and providing purposeful autonomy (empowerment of decisive self control) that achieves self regulation into their mood or emotion or mindset.

Diamond art is a recommendation for the neurodiverse especially, as it is sensory tactile, provides a supportive therapeutic streamline of self regulation in a creative modality, removes the need for creating a design so stress and overwhelm to perform and create is not a barrier to the effect and enjoyment of a holistic nourishing activity. Diamond art is an excellent choice for promoting achievement satisfaction and self esteem empowerment within the arena of the neurodiverse person.

2024 Faber Castel Connector Pens Colouring Challenge

Chromotherapy and Conscious Creativity through simple colouring in, offers a unique way to enhance your well-being. Everyone is well acquainted with the hype of mindfulness colouring in, but there is neuroscience behind this phenomenon and where the studio leverages itself as a platform for clients to positively impact body, mind and soul.

By engaging with colours, you can create a calming and restorative experience that promotes relaxation and mental clarity. This practice not only stimulates creativity but also helps reduce stress and anxiety, allowing for a deeper connection to your inner self.

But when embraced with applied traditional artistic knowledge, prescribed soul wisdom and tailored practical resource provision, purposeful interactions become possible; allowing the creative not to just dabble in potential, but take ownership and utilise autonomy in the therapeutic values that are in alignment with neuroscience.

The studio's colouring in book 'Conscious Colouring Patterns Of Colour' was created and developed to explore this at beginning level and is available in the webstore in both left hand and right hand formats. The first in a series, which deepens the knowledge and practice of this therapeutic process, sets the foundation of the following books to come.

This years challenge was to explore the benefits and power that is behind colouring in, and leveraging that to a conscious application for holistic self care management. Essentially taking the mindlessness of mindfulness colouring in, and transform it into a disciplined awareness that is enduring, and not a temporary burst of satisfaction.
